A piece of music for the long table
The House · 30 May 2026
What we have been playing as the room fills, just before the first course is set down.
There is a record we keep coming back to when we are setting a table: an Italian pianist playing Bach late at night, with the windows open.
It is the kind of music that does not ask for your attention but rewards it. By the time the second movement begins, the candles are lit and the first guests are arriving, and no one has had to say very much.
If you are curious, write to us. We will send the title and the recording. Some things belong to the room, not the feed.
